How it works

  1. Start from typical draw

We take your card’s typical gaming power and scale it by the power limit you choose.

  2. Estimate speed kept

Performance falls much more slowly than power. We use a curve fitted to published tests (about 95% speed at 78% power).

  3. Turn watts into money

Watts saved ÷ power supply efficiency × hours × your price gives the yearly saving.

Tips

Questions people ask

Is undervolting or power limiting safe?

Yes. Running a graphics card at lower power or voltage does not harm it. The worst case is a game crash if the voltage is too low, which you fix by backing the setting off. A power limit set in software is fully reversible.

How much performance do I lose at 80% power?

Usually only a few percent. Cards ship far past their most efficient point, so the last 20% of power buys very little speed. Our estimate is approximate; results vary by game and card.

Does undervolting also reduce noise and heat?

Yes. Less power means less heat, so fans spin slower and the room stays cooler, which also helps in summer.
